I wonder if Brody thinks he is a ninja considering the number of times he has "escaped death" at the hands of the vacuum cleaner?

Text Message of the Day
Me:
Brody has highlighter on him, but I'm not sure how it happened. I mean, there are a lot of highlighters around here, but I didn't write on him.
Carrie:
Maybe he's relevant to your legal reading.

It's Finally Happened
I knew. I knew, if I was just patient enough, waited long enough, and diligently charged my camera batteries...I knew the day would come when I would capture my very own lolcat. Ladies and getlemen, I present for your consideration....lawlcat.

Study Hall
The cats have really taken a liking to this studying business...Momma's Boy, Brody especially. I think it might be the extended amounts of time that I'm around now, or the stillness while I'm home. There isn't a lot of movement or cleaning or vacuuming, just lots of sitting and reading and typing. While I lay on the bed, or at my desk, or on the couch; the cats are there trying to jump in my lap or sit on my books. They are a welcome distraction. Here is Brody attacking my pen. I charge him with adorableness in the first degree!

Little Monster in the Closet
This is Brody's new favorite place at home...in the very back of the closet, on the very tippy top of the perilous tower of boxes and bags. I'm not sure how he gets up there without everything crashing down on him. Note the glowing laser eyes at the top of the photo.
Closer...
closer....
even closer...
there he is!

Books Books Books
Carrie and I took a trip to the Seattle Public Library Book Sale on Saturday. It was amazing! Thousands of books loaded in boxes and crammed in this huge warehouse. I mostly kept to the hardcover fiction. At one point I ventured into the kids section but quickly aborted that effort when I got a look at the crazed parents and countless baby strollers. Every book was one dollar and I told myself I could only spend $20. But, not being prepared for the spectacle, I only had the stamina to spend $10...alas. Now I am more prepared for the Fall sale.
Here's my loot...

I'm not sure who loves the books more...

Story Time
Kim found me this damaged copy of Cat by Matthew Van Fleet. Now it's even more damaged.
ps: sorry it's so dark...not sure what's wrong with my camera...or it could be that I live in a dungeon.
